If anyone could even begin to point me in the right direction for how to obtain what I need, I would be most grateful. Also, the instructions I found referenced being able to look in the device manager before reformatting, which as I stated above, no one thought to do. I searched and found a small amount of information regarding Gateway laptops with this problem, but those drivers do not appear to be the ones I need. Also, because the guy who did the install didn't keep a record, I don't even know the brands/IDs of the hardware that is in there. Since Gateway does not ship Vista with a Drivers disc and will not support changes to the OS, I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to obtain the necessary XP drivers that I need. Now, the following things try to install on boot-up, but say they cannot find the drivers: Unfortunately, no one thought to save a copy of the drivers and hardware from the device manager before they formatted the hard drive. Our company policy is to use Windows XP, so we purchased a new copy of XP to install on the computer. ![]() My company purchased a Gateway GM5472 which came with Windows Vista pre-installed.
